Conference Call 1/18/22

Welcome Back! With a snow day today, I've had some time to put this blog together! With all of the movement of teams between conferences, I thought it would be instructional to present the new conference structure all in one place. Please understand that all of this is still fluid, and timelines may change, but this is based on my latest research (Google is my friend!), but any division alignments are purely my own ideas and speculation. However, conferences may be moving away from divisions altogether so as to put the best 2 teams in their conference championship game, and increase their chances to get a team into the CFP, whenever it expands (assuming it ever does). As of this writing, the Big Ten, ACC, Pac 12, Mountain West, and MAC will remain unchanged. Three conferences will be adding members in 2023, 1 in 2024, and 1 in 2025. The Independents will be losing 3 members, 2 who will be joining the CUSA, and 1 joining the Big 12. Let's explore them in chronological order. Sun

Conference Call 1/17/22

Welcome Back! Now that the National Championship Game is over, and my beloved Georgia Bulldogs have broken their 41 years drought (thank goodness we won't have to hear about that anymore!), it's time for a little relaxation. However, there's never really any down time in college football, as Spring Practice- and Spring Games- will be taking place soon, and there is always recruiting going on, and some players are declaring for the NFL Draft, and others are entering the transfer portal, and... well, you get the idea.  While I'm not quite ready to start my preparations for my preseason predictions (this isn't my full-time job- in fact, I don't get paid a penny for any of my blogs!), I do like to spend a little bit of time looking back before I look forward. As I was going through the past 10 years of records, I started wondering which team has dominated its conference more than any other, and then I got to wondering which team has been the worst in its conference,

Paul's Picks- National Championship Game

Welcome Back! This will be my final blog for the 2021 College Football season. For those faithful few who have read all (or most) of my thoughts, I thank you! I hope you have enjoyed reading these as much as I have enjoyed producing them. As I am always looking to improve, feel free to leave any comments on how I can do better for next year. Now, on with the show! For the bowl season, I was 21-17 for a .553 winning percentage, which is pretty poor for me.  For the season, I was 652-234, or 73.6%, which I consider only fair. My goal every year is to reach 80% (which I've never reached), but I always strive to at least stay above 75%, which I was able to do until we got to November (week 10). But even though I finished below where I wanted to be, it was still better than last year's dismal performance of just over 70%.  But now it all comes down to the final contest, the National Championship Game. Alabama is the team almost everyone thought would be here from the beginning, and
