Paul's Pick Week 15

Welcome Back!

There is only one game this week, and it's always one of the best games of the year. I did about as well as I expected last week, as I was 8-4 (it's as if I were Purdue...) in Championship Week, or 66.7%, which makes me 601-252 for the year, or 70.5%, no change from last week. This is the lowest percentage I've had for a full year I think I have ever had. Maybe this is a good thing, as perhaps parity is coming to college football. At least this is what I'm choosing to tell myself.

There is only 1 game this week, so this will just about be my shortest blog of the year.

On to the pick!

Saturday, December 10

Army vs Navy (Philadelphia)- The Midshipmen lead the series 62-53-7, winning 2 of the last 3, including 17-13 last year, but the Black Knights have won 4 of the last 6. In Philadelphia, Navy holds a 45-40-1 edge, as these teams have also played in West Point (1890, 1892, 1943, 2020), Annapolis (1891, 1893, 1942, 2011), Princeton, NJ (1905), New York, NY (1913, 1915, 1916, 1919, 1920, 1921, 1923-tie, 1925, 1927, 1930, 1931), Baltimore (1924, 1944, 2000, 2007, 2014, 2016), Chicago (1926- tie), Pasadena, CA (1983), and East Rutherford, NJ (1989, 1993, 1997, 2002, 2021). This year, Army is 5-6, winning their last 2, but 2 of their wins are over FCS teams, and their other 3 wins are over teams with a combined record of 11-25, UConn's 6-6 being the best, and only 1 of their wins was on the road. Navy is 4-7, losing 2 of 3, but they have wins over ECU, Tulsa, Temple, and UCF, and narrow losses to Notre Dame, Air Force, and SMU, but also a loss to an FCS team in their opener. 6 of the last 8 meetings have been decided by 7 points or less, but only 1 of the last 3 (last year), has been closer than 15 points. Navy has had 3 weeks to prepare, as their last game was Dec 19, but Army will pull this one out.

That's all for this week! Feel free to leave a comment. Check out my Odds and Ends from yesterday for some interesting stats and info. Come back Monday for my TWIF Notes, where I will review all of the games played.

Until next time, may you and your loved ones be blessed!
