Power Rankings 10/15/24
Welcome Back!
Before I present my Power Rankings, this week continues those maddening mid-week games. Here is my pick for tonight's games.
Tuesday, October 15
Troy @ South Alabama- The Trojans lead the series 9-3, winning the last 6, including the last 4 played in Mobile. The Jaguars are on a 2-game losing streak, and at just 2-4 overall, desperately need some wins. Troy has also lost 2 straight, but have lost their last 6 FBS contests, with their only win this season over an FCS team. South Bama wins, but it'll be close.
Kennesaw State @ Middle Tennessee- The Owls had an off week last week, but they are still winless. This is one of 2 remaining chances to not go winless in their 1st FBS season, as the Blue Raiders are only 1-5 with a win over an FCS team (KSU lost to their FCS opponent). I'm tempted to go with the Owls, but I think MTSU wins late at home.
La Tech @ New Mexico State- The Bulldogs lead this series 8-5, winning 6 of the last 7, but the Aggies won 27-24 last year. 3 of NMSU's 5 wins came between 1967 and 1995. La Tech has played pretty well this season so far, with all 3 losses by 10 points or less (a combined 20 points), and they are 1-1 in CUSA. The Aggies have only a win over an FCS team. LT wins.
Power Rankings
I had a lot of movement in the PR again this week, as we are starting to see some wins and losses pile up. I expect the rankings to be pretty volatile the rest of the way as the point differentials are not as large as they were at the start of the season.
The preseason points are long gone, so that means the rankings are based solely on the results of this season.
Usually, I talk about what has changed, and who has moved the most, but I've been so busy just trying to keep up with stats and predictions that I just haven't been able to put the time in to add a narrative. I hope you'll forgive me.
Until next time, may you and your loved ones be blessed!
