Week 10 Picks
Sorry that this is so late, but I promise I did not make any changes. I usually make my picks on Monday or Tuesday, which I did this week, but it's been a super busy week, so I've been unable to post them. I had planned to post on Thursday, but Jackie wanted me to go to Alpharetta with her, and I did not make it home until almost midnight last night, and then Jackie needed the computer until 1 am. So here we are; I know each of you has been waiting with baited breath!
Last week, I was 38-18, or 67.9%, yet another mediocre week (and this week isn't starting off too hot, either...). Overall, I am 431-139 for a fairly respectable 75.6%. My new goal is to stay above 75%, since 80% seems out of reach. So here we Go!
Bowling Green over Kent St (they won)
Ohio over Miami (they won)
W Mich over C Mich (C Mich won)
Toledo over N Illinois (they won)
E Mich over Ball St (they won)
Navy over Temple (Temple won by 8)
Troy over Idaho (they won)
Marshall over FAU (FAU won by 5)
Memphis over Tulsa (they won)
UCLA over Utah (the Utes won by 31!)
For today's games:
Wisconsin over Indiana- The Hoosiers are a good team, but can't finish the upset. They won't today as the Badgers remain undefeated.
Penn St over Mich St- The Nittany Lions are too good for the Spartans, even on the road.
Auburn over Texas A&M- I have no confidence in the Aggies...
Miss St over UMass- The UMass winning streak ends at 2.
Houston over ECU- Houston stays in the hunt for an AAC title.
Purdue over Illinois- The Boilermakers should win this, as the Illini are one of the worst teams in the FBS.
Florida over Missouri- The Gators bounce back in a big way. The Tigers are a perfect remedy for a poor offense.
Kansas St over Texas Tech- The Wildcats are the better mediocre team. The Red Raiders can't seem to have that breakthrough season.
Vandy over WKU- The Hilltoppers are a good team, but not on the caliber of an SEC team.
Baylor over Kansas- Neither team is any good, but the Bears have at least kept games close.
FSU over Syracuse- Surely the Seminoles will win again. Won't they?
Ga Tech over Virginia- The Wahoos are improved, but won't be able to handle the Jacket offense.
UAB over Rice- One of the feel-good stories of the year continues with a Blazer win.
App St over La-Monroe- Despite their loss last week to UMass, the Mountaineers are at the top of the Sun Belt Conference.
Ga St over Ga Southern- The Eagles would like nothing better, in this lost season, than to ruin the Panthers season.
New Mex St over Texas St- The Aggies are the (slightly) better of these 2 struggling teams.
UGA over S Carolina- This is the game I've worried about all season, falling as it does between Florida and Auburn. Can the Dawgs sustain their strong play?
Ohio St over Iowa- Iowa keeps it close. For about 10 minutes...
Notre Dame over Wake Forest- The Irish steamroll the Deacons.
Clemson over NC St- The Tigers are back on track, having gotten their annual loss out of the way.
Iowa St over W Virginia- It's time to start believing in the Cyclones. Naturally, they'll probably lose.
Stanford over Wash St- The Cardinal get Bryce Love back, and that's all they'll need.
USF over UConn- The Bulls are the much better team.
Maryland over Rutgers- Both teams are improved, but the Terrapins are a little further along.
ODU over Charlotte- The Monarchs have been playing football just slightly longer.
La Tech over N Texas- Should be close, so go with the home team.
Northwestern over Nebraska- The Wildcats are the more complete team; the Cornhuskers are playing with what is believed to be a lame duck coach.
Air Force over Army- Though the Black Knights have a better record, I believe the Falcons are the better team.
Okla over Okla St- The Sooners almost always win the Bedlam game.
Kentucky over Ole Miss- The Wildcats stay in the SEC East race for another week.
Arkansas over C Carolina- Won't even be close.
S Alabama over Louisiana- The Jaguars should pull this out at home.
Tulane over Cincinnati- I honestly have no idea who to pick in this game, so I went with the home team.
Cal over Oregon St- The Beavers are just awful...
New Mexico over Utah St- Another tough game to call.
UNLV over Hawaii- The Rainbows generally struggle playing on the mainland.
Boise St over Nevada- The Broncos have reasserted their dominance in the MWC.
Colo St over Wyoming- I still believe in this Rams team.
FIU over UTSA- I've picked against the Panthers the last 2 weeks and they've won each time. Can they make it 3 in a row?
UCF over SMU- The Knights better be on upset alert against one of the better Mustang teams in recent memory.
Mid Tenn over UTEP- The Miners' winless season continues.
Michigan over Minn- If the Wolverines can't beat the Gophers at home...
Alabama over LSU- The Tigers chances are SLIM and NONE, and NONE is WAY in the lead!
Miami over Va Tech- Should be a great game!
Colorado over Ariz St- I can't seem to pick any game involving the Buffalos correctly, so they'll probably lose.
Wash over Oregon- The Huskies are back on track after their hiccup against Ariz St last month.
San Diego St over San Jose St- The Aztecs should win this easily, even on the road.
Arizona over USC- Khalil Tate has me firmly on the Wildcat Train!
Fresno St over BYU- The Cougars are having a miserable season.
