Week 13 Predictions
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am looking forward to getting together with family to celebrate all of our blessings. May all your travels be blessed, and may you have much joy in the gathering of family and friends!
Last week, I was 52-13, for a sterling 80%! Overall, that raised me to 567-189, or 75%! My goal of finishing the season at 75% is still possible. On to this week's games.
Tuesday games
E Mich over Bowling Green (they won)
Akron over Kent St (they won)
Miami, Oh over Ball St (they won- off to a great start)
Thursday Game
Miss St over Ole Miss- While the Rebels are playing for bowl eligibility, the Bulldogs offense is just too strong for them to keep up with.
Friday games
Toledo over W Mich- The Broncos will put up a fight, but Toledo will clinch the division.
N Illinois over C Mich- The Huskies will hold out hope for a Toledo loss, but I believe they'll be focused on taking down the Chippewas on the road.
Miami, Fl over Pitt- Will the pressure get to the Hurricanes? Pitt has a history of upsetting top teams, but the Canes defense is too much for them.
TCU over Baylor- This will be over by halftime.
Navy over Houston- Two disappointing teams go at it in this season finale for Houston; Navy will do just enough to win.
Ohio over Buffalo- Though they now have no hope of a division title, due to Akron's win on Tuesday, the Bobcats will thrash the Bulls.
Missouri over Arkansas- The Tigers will continue to roll over the Razorbacks and their soon-to-be lame duck coach.
UCF over USF- This should be a highly entertaining game to decide the division title in the AAC.
San Diego St over New Mexico- The Aztecs will continue their late-season recovery and win easily.
Troy over Texas St- The Trojans are one of the better teams in the SBC; Texas St is not.
Iowa over Nebraska- A contest between 2 decidedly mediocre teams, neither of which seems to want to be any good.
FIU over WKU- The Panthers have had a surprising season in a good way; the Hilltoppers season has been surprising in a bad way.
Va Tech over Virginia- The Hokies will take this rivalry game on the road at Virginia.
Texas over Texas Tech- The Longhorns still have faint hopes of making the Big12 title game, but it would take a near miracle.
Cal over UCLA- It is always difficult to know how a team will respond to an interim. It's my guess here that the Bruins will play inspired for the first half, but the Bears where wear them down in the second.
Saturday Games
UGA over Ga Tech- The Dawgs will get revenge on the Jackets for their destruction of the hedges after last year's loss.
Okla St over Kansas- The Jayhawks are one of the worst teams in football, on any level.
SMU over Tulane- The Mustangs will deny the Green Wave bowl eligibility.
Ohio St over Michigan- The Wolverines have not played well in any game against meaningful competition, and the Buckeyes should have no problems in this one.
Memphis over ECU- The Tigers are holding out hope for a New Year's Six bowl.
Cincinnati over UConn- Two terrible teams; I went with the home Bearcats.
Purdue over Indiana- Two teams fighting for bowl eligibility; I went with the home team.
Kentucky over Louisville- While Lamar Jackson is an amazing talent, the Cardinal defense is just too terrible to help him out. Wildcats win a close one.
Boston College over Syracuse- The Eagles continue the Orange's late season slide. How did Syracuse ever beat Clemson?
Wake Forest over Duke- Despite the Blue Devils' victory over Ga Tech last week, The Demon Deacons will win at home.
UAB over UTEP- This is the last chance for a victory for the Miners, but the Blazers continue their return season with a victory.
N Texas over Rice- The Mean Green may start a little sluggish, but they will have more than enough focus to overcome the Owls.
FAU over Charlotte- The Owls will demolish the 49ers.
Ga St over App St- I'm starting to believe in this Panther team.
S Miss over Marshall- I have yet to pick right a game involving Marshall, so if you're betting on this game, you might want to go with the Thundering Herd.
Mid Tenn over ODU- The Blue Raiders should win at home.
Ark St over La-Monroe- The Red Wolves are the best team in the SBC.
UNLV over Nevada- This Rebel team has come a long way since their opening loss to Howard.
Alabama over Auburn- Is there any way for both to lose? I just have a hard time believing Auburn is good enough to play like they did against Georgia consistently.
Wisconsin over Minnesota- The Badgers will destroy a mediocre Gopher team, winning Paul Bunyun's Axe, and denying the Gophers a bowl game.
Penn St over Maryland- The Nittany Lions excel at pummeling lesser teams.
NC St over UNC- The Wolfpack bring a merciful end to the Tar Heel season.
Boise St over Fresno St- These 2 teams will meet again next week in the MWC Championship game.
Iowa St over Kansas St- I'm tempted to go with the Wildcats, but they have too many injuries to key players to overcome the Cyclones.
Oklahoma over W Va- The Mountaineers must win this to have any hoe at playing next week, but the Sooners are just too good.
Mich St over Rutgers- The Spartans go on the road and win easily.
Northwestern over Illinois- The Wildcats will have no problems with one of the worst teams in America.
Tennessee over Vandy- One of these teams will get their first SEC victory. The Volunteers rarely lose to the Commodores.
Temple over Tulsa- Both of these teams have been up and down. The Owls will prevail on the road.
New Mexico St over Idaho- NMS has a chance at a bowl; Idaho just lost to C Carolina.
LSU over Texas A&M- The Bayou Bengals will end Kevin Sumlin's tenure with a loss.
La Tech over UTSA- This is one of the more difficult games to pick; I went with the home team.
Wash St over Washington- The Huskies have been eliminated from the PAC12 Championship game. Their only motivation is eliminating the Cougars.
Notre Dame over Stanford- The Irish will go on the road and dominate the Cardinal.
BYU over Hawaii- Surely the Cougars can beat the Rainbow Warriors. Can't they?
Utah over Colorado- No real reason other than Utah is at home.
Utah St over Air Force- The Falcons have had a disappointing season.
That's it for this week. Until next time, may your day and your loved ones be blessed!
