Here is how the divisions are stacking up against each other within each conference:

The SEC West is 3-0 against the SEC East

Which Division is Best?

To dig a little deeper, I figured out the records and winning percentages for each division. For conferences without divisions, I used the entire conference. It's not perfect, but it's the best I can do.

T1) Big Ten East 23-5 .821
T1) SEC West 23-5 .821
3) ACC Atlantic 22-6 .786
4) Big 12 29-9 .763

6) Pac 12 31-16 .660
7) Big Ten West 16-12 .571
8) AAC 24-19 .558
9) SBC East 15-12 .556
10) ACC Coastal 15-13 .661
11) SBC West 14-14 .500

T16) MAC West 8-16 .333
T16) MAC East 8-16 .333

The SEC West was 6-1, the Big 12 was 6-3, and the SBC West was 5-2 last week to lead the pack. On the other side, the ACC Atlantic was 2-5 and the MAC West was 0-6.

Undefeated/Winless teams

The following teams are currently undefeated (listed alphabetically):

Alabama
Clemson
Coastal Carolina
FSU
Georgia
James Madison
Kansas
Kentucky
Michigan
Minnesota
NC State
Ohio State
Oklahoma State
Ole Miss
Penn State
Syracuse
TCU
Tennessee
UCLA
USC
Washington

The following teams are currently winless (also listed alphabetically):

Colorado
Colorado State
Georgia State

There are now 21 (out of 131) undefeated teams in FBS, a reduction of 12 from last week. There are only 3 winless teams, as 3 teams earned their 1st win last weekend.

Here are the undefeated and winless teams by conference (# undefeated listed first):

SEC 5/0
Big Ten 4/0
ACC 4/0
Big 12 3/0
Pac 12 3/1
SBC 2/1
AAC 0/0
CUSA 0/0
Ind 0/0
MAC 0/0
MWC 0/1

In addition, there are 19 teams with only 1 win, but no wins over an FBS opponent. Those teams are:

Akron
Arizona State
Arkansas State
Army
Ball State
Boston College
Central Michigan
FIU
Fresno State
Georgia Tech
Hawaii
Kent State
La Tech
Nebraska
Northern Illinois
Stanford
UConn
UMass
USF

Five of these teams are P5 teams; 5 are from the MAC (understandable, as they play a lot of P5 teams); 3 are Independents; 2 are from the MWC, 2 are from CUSA, and 1 each is from the AAC and the Sun Belt.

Bowl eligible/eliminated

Starting midseason, I keep a running list of teams as they reach bowl eligibility (6+ wins) or are eliminated from bowl eligibility (7+ losses)

Updates on my playoff picks

Georgia, Alabama, Utah, and Ohio State all won their games against lesser opponents in workmanlike fashion. I could be wrong about this, but there seems to be a lot more parity in CFB this year. I'm not sure any team is head and shoulders above all of the rest. It could lead to an exciting finish to the season!

Games I'm Excited About

Tulane @ Houston- Can the Green Wave bounce back from their loss to Southern Miss and be a factor in the AAC? Can the Cougars show the potential everyone expected from them?

UTSA @ Middle Tennessee- Are the Blue Raiders for real? Can the Roadrunners repeat as CUSA champions?

San Diego State @ Boise State- Can the Aztecs play better than they have so far? Can the Broncos bounce back from being routed by UTEP?

Washington @ UCLA- Can the Huskies stay undefeated and beat the Bruins on the road? Can the Bruins offense keep up with the Huskies?

Michigan @ Iowa- Can the Hawkeyes contain the Michigan offense and pull the upset? Will the Wolverines take a lead and force Iowa to play catch up?

Oklahoma @ TCU- Will the Sooners bounce back and take care of business on the road? Can the Horned Frogs stay undefeated and hand OU their 2nd consecutive loss?

Kentucky @ Ole Miss- Can the Wildcats get the SEC East's 1st win over the SEC West in the 2022 season? Can the Rebels stay undefeated and move into the AP Top 10 with a win?

Texas Tech @ Kansas State- Can the Red Raiders maintain momentum and avoid a letdown after last week's big upset? Can the Wildcats?

Texas State @ James Madison- Can the Dukes remain one of the 2 undefeated G5 (and SBC) teams? Will the Bobcats have enough juice to spoil JMU's perfect debut in the FBS ranks?

Oregon State @ Utah- Will the Beavers bounce back and perhaps upset Utah? Can the Utes continue their push for a CFP spot?

Alabama @ Arkansas- Will the Crimson Tide continue rolling through the SEC? Will the Razorbacks put up a fight, or will they wallow in the misery of last week's lost opportunity?

Oklahoma State @ Baylor- Can the Cowboys stay undefeated? Will the Bears have a repeat of last year's Big 12 CG and knock off OSU?

Wake Forest @ FSU- Are the Seminoles for real, and can they move into the top half of the ACC Atlantic Division? Do the Demon Deacons have anything left in the tank after last week's dramatic and emotional overtime loss to Clemson?

Iowa State @ Kansas- Can the Jayhawks actually get to 5-0? Can the Cyclones bounce back from their 1st loss?

NC State @ Clemson- Can the Wolfpack slow down Clemson's newfound offense and clinch a 2nd win in a row in the series? Will the Tigers continue to give up yards and points on defense, or was the game against Wake Forest a 1-game aberration?
