Paul's Picks 2026 Week 7
Welcome Back!
It was bound to happen. I finally had a poor week, my worst week so far (not counting Week Zero). I finished at 37-21 for a winning percentage of 63.8%. Overall, I am 359-89, or 80.1%, a drop of 2.5% from the week before. There is no way I will sustain 80% for the year, but maybe I can stay above 75% this year. There are only 62 games in total this week, 4 more than last week. By and large, conference contests are the majority of the games this week, which makes picking a winner that much more difficult (as I just demonstrated...). And I'm off to a 1-3 start. Sigh...
There are a lot of fantastic games this weekend, so... on with the picks!
Thursday, October 15
East Carolina @ UAB- The Blazers won 4 of the 1st 6 in this series, from 1998-2006, but the Pirates have won the last 7 to take a 9-4 lead. UAB is 3-3/1-1, and just 1 win shy of matching last season's 4 wins, and they've actually looked decent, with their 2 biggest losses on the road at Illinois and Memphis (3-0 at home). ECU is 3-2/1-0 as they are 1-1 on the road (loss at Alabama, win at ODU by 3). The Pirates are hoping to duplicate their 9 wins from last year, but I like UAB in this one.
Georgia Southern @ ODU- The series is tied at 3 wins each, with the Eagles winning in the Division I-AA Playoffs in 2011 and 2012, then again in 2022, but the Monarchs have won the last 3, including 45-10 last season. ODU finally got off the mat to get their 1st FBS win 10-3 over App State last week, and that may be just what they needed to get their season turned around. GS has beaten CCU and lost by 3 to JMU last week. I feel like the Eagles are close to a breakthrough. GS wins.
Colorado State @ Texas State- The Rams and Bobcats will be playing for the 1st time ever, and both are coming out of their off week. Both are 2-3/0-1, but TSU has been more competitive in their losses and are 2-1 at home. Bobcats win.
Friday, October 16
Memphis @ Tulane- The Tigers lead the series 25-16-1, but the Green Wave have won 3 of the last 4, including 38-32 last year. This year, Tulane is 2-3/0-1 while Memphis is 5-1/2-0. Tigers win.
Washington @ Purdue- The Huskies lead the series 8-2-1, winning 49-13 last year, as the Boilermakers are 0-3 against UW in West Lafayette. PU has wins in the first meeting in 1961 and in the 2002 Sun Bowl, and the tie came in 1962, but Washington has the biggest win: a 34-24 victory in the 2001 Rose Bowl following the 2000 season. Both teams are 3-3 overall, but the Huskies are 0-3 in the Big Ten and on a 3-game losing skid while the Boilermakers are 2-1 in the conference, winning their last 2. Purdue wins.
Appalachian State @ Coastal Carolina- The Mountaineers lead the series 7-5, including a win in the 2006 Division I-AA Playoffs, but the Chanticleers have won the last 4, and 5 of the last 6, and are 3-1 on the teal turf of Brooks Stadium in Conway. ASU is 3-2, but 0-1 in the SBC, losing their last 2 games, while CCU is 2-4/1-1, defeating Marshall last week. This is another toss-up in a week full of them. Chants win a close one.
Saturday, October 17
Ohio State @ Indiana - This is one of the more lopsided "rivalries" in all of college football, as the Buckeyes lead 81-13-5, with one of those wins vacated. In fact, OSU had won 30 in a row, and were 31-0-1 since 1989 before the Hoosiers ended that streak with a 13-10 win in last year's Big Ten Championship Game. Both teams are 3-0 in the Big Ten, but IU is 6-0 overall while the Buckeyes have a loss at Texas in week 2. Since that loss, OSU has dominated their next 4 opponents. The Hoosiers have had 2 close calls over the last 3 weeks, and seem to be living on borrowed time. OSU wins to reclaim their dominance of the Big Ten.
Florida @ Texas- The 1st meeting between these teams ended in a 7-7 tie, but that was more than 100 years ago in 1924. The Longhorns won the next 3, in 1939, 1940, and 2024, but the Gators finally got their 1st win last year in Gainesville, so they are 0-2-1 in Austin. UF has fallen apart over the last 2 weeks, but UT has its own struggles, as they are averaging less than 22 ppg in SEC games. Can the Horns score enough against a Florida defense allowing 37 ppg in SEC games? UT wins, but I'm not overly confident.
Mississippi State @ LSU- The Tigers lead the series 78-36-3, but that total includes 3 vacated wins and 2 MSU forfeits. The Bulldogs have only won 3 of the last 10 meetings (since 2014), but 2 of those (2014 and 2020) were in Baton Rouge. The Bayou Bengals are 4-2, but both of their losses are to SEC foes, dropping them to 1-2 in the conference. Meanwhile, MSU is 4-1/2-1, with their only loss to Alabama. And the Bulldogs were off last week. MSU takes down LSU.
Virginia @ SMU- The Mustangs routed the Cavaliers 33-7 in their only previous matchup in 2024 in Charlottesville, and this one is in Dallas. Both teams are 2-1 in the ACC, but the Ponies are 3-0 at home and were off last week. The Wahoos are 0-2 away from Scott Stadium, so it looks like a win for SMU to continue both trends.
Northwestern @ Michigan State- The Spartans have doubled up the Wildcats, leading the series 40-20, including the last 3 (since 2019), but they haven't played since 2021. MSU has lost their last 4 games, and so far have been arguably the worst team in the Big Ten. The Wildcats are 4-1/1-1 with their only loss by 6 points at undefeated Indiana. NU gets their 1st road win of the season.
Cincinnati @ West Virginia- The Mountaineers hold a dominating 18-3-1 lead in this series, winning the last 3, but 2 of UC's 3 wins (and the tie) have come in Morgantown. The Bearcats are 4-1/1-1 and were off last week, but they are coming off a loss at Arizona. WVU is 3-3/0-3 and on 3-game slide. Bearcats get the win.
Kansas @ Kansas State- The Jayhawks lead this series 64-54-5, but the lead used to be much larger, as the Wildcats have won the last 17 in a row (since 2009), and 29 of the last 33 (since 1993). Both are 0-2 in the Big 12, with KSU 3-2 overall and KU at 2-3. Kansas has only won once in Manhattan since 1989, and that was in 2007. I don't see any reason for those trends to change. Wildcats win.
Charleston Southern @ Clemson- Pretty sure the Tigers will make it 2-0 against the Buccaneers. Clemson wins big.
Pittsburgh @ Boston College- The Panthers lead this competitive series 19-16, winning 48-7 last year, but the Eagles have won 3 of the last 5, and the last 2 played in Chestnut Hill. Pitt is the better team, but with the loss of QB Heintschel 2 weeks ago, they were unable to put away North Carolina in their last game. However, BC is one of the worst P4 teams this season, though they were off last week. Panthers win.
FAU @ Army- The Black Knights defeated the Owls 24-7 in their only prior meeting, in 2024 in Boca Raton, and they enter this game off a win against Tulane. FAU is 4-1, on a 4-game win streak, coming out of their off week, and have already defeated a similar offense in Navy. I like the Owls in a mild upset.
Ball State @ Bowling Green- The Falcons lead the series 23-9-1, winning the last 3 (since 2015), and 9 of the last 10 (since 1999). However, Ball State's last win in the series was in Bowling Green, in 2014. The Cardinals are 1-5/0-2 with their only win over an FCS team, and all of their losses have been by at least 13 points each. BGSU is on a 2-game winning streak after opening the season with 4 losses, and they are 2-0 in the MAC after their victory over Miami 2 weeks ago. Falcons win this bird fight.
Georgia State @ James Madison- The Panthers have never defeated the Dukes in 5 tries, losing in 2012, and then each year from 2022-25. But 3 of the 5 losses were by 7 points or less, including the 14-7 result last season. JMU is one of only 9 remaining unbeaten teams, and are the class of the G6, scoring an upgrade to the American Conference either next year or the year after. GSU is still a program struggling to find its way and get a foothold as a legitimate program. The Panthers suffered their only loss of the season against UCF, which is one more P4 opponents than the Dukes have played. In addition, GSU had their bye last week while JMU was slipping past Georgia Southern. I may be crazy, but I think the Panthers win this in a major upset.
Rutgers @ Maryland- The Terrapins lead the series 12-9, but the Scarlet Knights have won the last 2, each by 2 TDs. These are 2 of the worst teams in the Big Ten, and in all of the P4, as they are a combined 3-8 with 1 P4 win between them, and are 0-5 in the Big Ten. Rutgers was off last week, but Maryland is at home. Which is worth more? I'll take the Scarlet Knights over the Terps.
The Citadel @ Texas A&M- The Aggies will run their record to 2-0 against the Bulldogs with a win.
Charlotte @ Temple- The Owls lead the series 3-0, with the closest win by 28 points, including 49-14 last season over the 49ers. I see no reason for that trend to change. Temple wins big.
UMass @ Buffalo- The feel-good story that was the Minutemen has gone off the rails as UMass has lost their last 2 games after a 4-0 start, and they are only 1-2 in the MAC. The Bulls lead the series 10-6, winning the last 3 (since 2022) and 6 of the last 7 (since 2012), but UMass' last win came in Buffalo, and they are 4-4 in Broadview Stadium. Buffalo is 3-3/1-1, winning 2 of their last 3, and are coming off an upset win at Toledo. Bulls trample the Minutemen.
Western Michigan @ Central Michigan- The Broncos lead the Battle for the Victory Cannon by a score of 54-41-2, and have won 11 of the last 15, including 24-21 last year, but the Chippewas won the last time this game was played in Mt. Pleasant. This is also the 1st leg of the Battle for the Michigan MAC Trophy that also includes Eastern Michigan. WMU is 4-2/2-0, losing at Michigan (not really...) and to Boise State at home, and have MAC wins at Buffalo and over Kent State. CMU is 3-3/1-1, routing Akron and then being routed by Ohio. Anything can happen in a rivalry game, but I see the Broncos coming out on top.
Auburn @ Georgia- There was a time in the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry when each team had the same number of wins, and the all-time point differential was 1 point. Since then, the Bulldogs have dominated, winning the last 9, and 18 of the last 21. There was also a time when the visiting team seemed to win almost every year, but the Tigers haven't won in Athens since 2005, losing 9 consecutive contests Between the Hedges. The Dawgs also own a victory in the 2017 SEC Championship Game in Atlanta. The series began way back in 1892 and has been played nearly continuously since, with UGA holding the 66-56-8 edge (yes, there have been 8 ties, and there would have been a 9th except these 2 played the 1st OT game in SEC history in 1996), missing only 1893, 1897, 1917-18 (for WWI), and 1943 (WWII). And there was also a time when they played every year in Columbus, Ga, but that ended almost 70 years ago. The War Eagles are 3-2/1-2, losing 2 of their last 3, but the losses to Florida and Tennessee were by 5 and 7 points respectively, so they are absolutely capable of giving the Dawgs a game. UGA is coming off a huge win at Alabama, and may be due for a letdown, but I don't think they will allow that to happen. UGA wins their 10th straight over the Plainsmen.
Alabama @ Tennessee- This game, also known as the Third Saturday in October, began in 1901 and has been played yearly since 1928, missing only 1943 for WWII. Traditionally, the winning team smokes cigars after the victory, and the Crimson Tide leads 61-40-7, with one of those wins vacated (2005) and one of UT's wins a Bama forfeit (a 17-17 tie in 1993). Bama has won 17 of the last 19, but the Volunteers have won 2 of the last 4, both in Knoxville. The Tide are coming off an emotional loss to UGA, but are 5-1/2-1. The Vols are also 5-1/2-1with their loss to Texas by the same score as Bama's loss to UGA. The Tide were more dominant in their 2 SEC wins than the Vols were in theirs, so I'm going with Alabama to win in Knoxville for the first time since 2020.
Missouri @ Ole Miss- The Tigers have absolutely dominated Ole Miss, winning 7 of their 8 matchups, with the Rebels getting their lone win in meeting #2 in 1974 in Jackson. Mizzou's wins have come in 1973, 1978, 1979, 2006, 2007, 2013 and 2019, so it's been a while since they last played. The Tigers are one of the surprise teams of the SEC at 5-1/2-1, with their only loss at Miss State by 7, but they've also routed Florida and Texas A&M. The Rebels are 4-1/2-1losing at Florida by 24, but with wins over LSU and at Vandy. This should be a battle of equals (or near equals), but I like how Mizzou's season is going. Tigers win a close one in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
Arizona State @ Texas Tech- The series is tied at 3 wins apiece, with the Sun Devils winning in 1999, 2016, and 26-22 last season, all in Tempe. The Red Raiders claim wins in 2017 and 2024 in Lubbock, and in the 2013 Holiday Bowl in San Diego. TTU is one of 3 undefeated Big 12 teams, and they are coming out of their off week. ASU is 3-2, but have been routed by 2 teams from Texas: Texas A&M and Baylor. Make that 3 teams from Texas. Red Raiders win big.
Georgia Tech @ Virginia Tech- Nobody needed an off week as badly as the Yellow Jackets, and they responded by upsetting previously undefeated Duke in Bobby Dodd Stadium. Now they travel to Blacksburg to take on the Hokies, who are 4-2/1-2, but losers of their last 2. VT leads the series 12-9, winning 3 of the last 5, but the Jackets have won 2 of the last 3, including 35-20 last season. Has GT turned their season around? Is VT on their way to a collapse? My answer to both is "yes". Jackets win.
North Carolina @ Duke- The Tar Heels and Blue Devils will battle it out for the Victory Bell, with UNC leading 65-43-4, with 2 of those wins vacated (2008 & 2009), and 1 of Duke's win by a 1-0 UNC forfeit in 1889. The Heels are 3-2/1-1 with a win at Pitt last week and a loss at Clemson (why are their 1st three ACC games on the road?) while the Blue Devils are 4-1/1-1 following their loss to Ga Tech in Atlanta. This should be a competitive, close game, but I see Duke winning at home.
Penn State @ Michigan- Most years, this would be a premiere matchup, but this year it matches 2 teams that are a combined 0-5 in the Big Ten. The Wolverines lead the series 17-10, winning the last 3, and 4 of the last 5 played in Ann Arbor, and while Michigan has lost their last 2 by a combined 7 points, the Nittany Lions are on a 3-game skid, with losses by 6, 21, and 8 points. UM wins at home.
Northern Illinois @ Wyoming- The Cowboys are 2-0 versus the Huskies, winning 40-34 in 2016 and 50-43 in 2021. Does that mean they'll win 60-52 this time? Probably not, but anything is possible. Wyoming wins.
UNLV @ Air Force- The Falcons have soared to 18 wins in this series, while the Rebels have accumulated just 8, though they've won the last 2. UNLV started the season 1-2, but have reeled off 3 straight wins since, including over Cal and previously undefeated North Dakota State. AFA is 4-1/2-1 with their only loss to the same NDSU team the Rebels just beat, though it was in week 2. The teams are each 2-2 in the last 4 games played in Colorado Springs, so I'll go with UNLV to win their 3rd consecutive contest in the series.
Toledo @ Eastern Michigan- The Rockets have dominated this series, leading 39-13, including the last 3 (since 2022), and 22 of the last 25 (since 2000). Toledo is 4-2/1-1, but are coming off a loss to Buffalo at home. The Eagles actually lead the MAC at 4-3/3-0, but their wins are against Sac State, at UMass, and at Akron, teams that are a combined 6-12 with 2 FBS wins, both by UMass, and one of those was over the Hornets. Those teams are also a combined 1-7 against MAC competition, again with the one win being UMass over Sac State. Rockets win, probably by a lot.
Akron @ Miami, Oh- The Redhawks lead 24-9-1, winning each of the last 8 (since 2015). Miami is 3-3/1-1, losing to Bowling Green 2 weeks ago, but they've been wildly inconsistent, beating UConn and playing Cincinnati close, but then barely squeaking by UMass last weekend. The Zips have been consistent, but they've been consistently bad, as their only win is over an FCS squad, and their only loss by less than 22 points was last week when they lost to EMU by two, 25-23. Redhawks win.
Tulsa @ Rice- The American Conference is generally considered the best among the G6, but it sure has a number of teams capable of losing to anyone at any time, and these are 2 of them. The Golden Hurricane lead this series 10-9-1, but the Owls have won the last 2, in 2013 and 2023, and no, they don't just play every 10 years. Rice is still looking for their 1st FBS win, but they've actually played 2 quality teams close, losing to WMU 28-21 and to UTSA 16-14, both at home. Tulsa is 3-3/0-2, but they've lost 3 in a row after opening the season 3-0, but their last 2 losses were by a combined 9 points. The Hurricane wins.
Troy @ Louisiana- The Ragin' Cajuns lead the series 14-12, but with 3 wins vacated, that puts the Trojans ahead 12-11. Troy has won 3 of the last 4 , but UL has won 2 of the last 3 played in Lafayette. The Trojans are 3-2/1-0 with their SBC win over woeful Southern Miss. Louisiana is 4-2/1-1defeating Arkansas State, but dropping a 32-31 decision at La Tech last weekend. This is the game that could decide who wins the SBC West, but South Alabama and La Tech will have a say as well. At the very least, it could eliminate the Cajuns if they lose. UL wins at home.
Washington State @ Oregon State- These 2 teams, left behind when the Pac 12 collapsed, have hung around for the conference's revival, and this is the first of what could be 2 meetings for a 2nd year in a row, as they are tentatively scheduled to play each other in the Flex game at the end of the season. The Cougars lead the series 58-50-3, winning 32-8 last year, but the Beavers have won 2 of the last 3, and the last 3 times they've played in Corvallis. I addition, OSU is 4-2/2-0 while Wazzu is 1-5/0-2 with no FBS wins. The Beavers win big.
FSU @ Miami, Fl- There was a time when this was THE game, but that is long past. The Hurricanes lead the series 37-33, winning the last 2, and they even have a win in the 2004 Orange Bowl. The Canes took last week off while the Seminoles were being plastered by Louisville. I'll be surprised if this game is even close. Miami routs FSU.
Arkansas @ Vanderbilt- The Razorbacks lead this series 7-3, but the matchups range from 1949-2018, with the Commodores winning the most recent one. Vandy is 3-3, but 0-3 in the SEC, losing their last 3 by increasingly larger marginsThe Hogs are 2-4, but also 0-3 in the conference, but they've actually been getting closer to winning. Flip a coin. Vandy wins at home.
TCU @ Baylor- The Horned Frogs lead the series 60-54-7, winning 9 of the last 11, but the Bears won the last time this game was played in Waco. TCU is 2-3/0-2, but all 3 losses have been by 8 points or less. Baylor is 4-1/2-0, with their only loss by 1 to Auburn in their opener, and no win by less than 10 points. The Bears maul the Frogs.
Kent State @ USF- This is kind of a weird midseason nonconference game, but the Bulls will crush the Golden Flashes in this 1st ever meeting.
Nevada @ North Dakota State- Now that the Bison have tasted defeat at the FBS level, how will they respond? The Wolf Pack will be traveling to Fargo for this 1st time matchup, and they are coming off a big win over UTEP as they are 1-1 in the MWC, just behind NDSU at 2-1. I expect a good game as Nevada hangs around to the end, but the Bison will win.
Arkansas State @ Southern Miss- The Golden Eagles lead the series 11-4, including a win in the 2005 New Orleans Bowl and 27-21 last season, but the Red Wolves have won 2 of the last 3, including the last time they played in Hattiesburg. The teams are a combined 3-8, and 0-3 in the SBC, with ASU's win over Kennesaw State the only FBS win between them. Who knows, and frankly, few will care who wins this game, as it is unlikely to affect the SBC West race. Red Wolves devour the Golden Eagles.
Notre Dame @ BYU- Finally, the Fighting Irish will play a team with a pulse, as their 6 wins have come against teams with a combined 15-19, and 10-19 vs FBS competition. BYU is 5-0, with their 4 FBS conquests having combined records of 12-10, but 8-10 against the FBS. Notre Dame leads the series 7-2, but their wins in 2012 and 2013 have been vacated, and they are just 1-1 in Provo. The Cougars have been waiting for a game like this their entire existence, and they'll be fired up to deliver a win, but I think the Irish are too good to succumb, especially when they only have 2 challenging games to prepare for, and this is just the first. ND wins.
Wisconsin @ UCLA- The Badgers won the 1st game in this series in 1938, and have won the last 3 (in the 1994 and 1999 Rose Bowls, and in the 2000 Sun Bowl), but the Bruins lead 7-4. My first instinct is to go with the home team, as the Bruins are undefeated and just knocked off preseason favorite Oregon. But unfortunately, star QB Nico Iamaleava has been injured and could be lost for the year. The Badgers were off last week, and are off to a fast start themselves at 4-1/2-0, with their only loss to Notre Dame in Green Bay. A win here would be huge for Wisconsin. Badgers win in an upset.
Kentucky @ Oklahoma- The Wildcats won the initial matchup 13-7 in the 1951 Sugar Bowl (1950 season), but the Sooners have won the other 2, in 1980 in Norman and 1982 in Lexington. Interestingly, those wins were by almost identical scores: 29-7 in '80 and 29-8 in '82. UK is 5-1/3-1 and one of the surprise teams in the SEC with wins over Texas A&M, South Carolina, and LSU (the latter 2 by the same 35-34 in OT) and their only loss to Alabama. OU is 3-2/1-1, but are coming off a huge win over Texas. The Sooners have the defense, but I don't think their offense can keep up with the Cats. Kentucky wins a close one.
Oklahoma State @ Houston- The Cougars lead the series by a narrow 11-10 mark, winning 4 of the last 7, but the home team is only 2-5 in the last 7 games, and have lost the last 3. The Cowboys have bounced back from 2 very subpar seasons to go 4-1/2-0 so far with an inexplicable loss at Tulsa in Game 1. UH is 5-1/2-1, losing their Big 12 opener at conference favorite Texas Tech by the slimmest of margins. I'm a big believer in both of these coaches, but I'm going with the Cougars to buck the trend and win this game at home.
Elon @ Stanford- The Cardinal will demolish the Phoenix in this 1st time meeting. Elon will need to rise from the ashes after this one...
Louisville @ Syracuse- The Cardinals lead this series 13-8, winning 10 of the last 13 (since 2009), but the Orange won the last meeting 31-7 in 2022 in Syracuse. UL is only 3-3/2-2, falling far short of preseason expectations. Syracuse is 2-3/0-3, with 2 of their 3 losses by exactly 3 points, but their 1 FBS win was by one over UConn. The Orange are certainly capable of winning this, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did, but I have to go with the Cardinals even though they're on the road.
Navy @ UTSA- The Midshipmen (2-3/1-2) have renewed life after a win over Tulsa, but they're 0-3 on the road. The Roadrunners are 5-1/2-0 with close wins over Rice and USF and a loss at Texas. This is the 1st time these teams will meet on the gridiron. Meep! Meep! UTSA wins at home.
La Tech @ ULM- The Bulldogs have a huge 29-14 lead on the Warhawks, winning the last 6, but they haven't played since the year 2000. LT is 3-2/1-0 with a win over SBC West favorite Louisiana, but are 0-2 on the road, although those were at LSU and Baylor. ULM is 0-5/0-1. 'Nuff said. Bulldogs win big.
San Jose State @ UTEP- The series is tied at 5 wins apiece, with the Spartans winning 3 of the last 4 and the Miners winning the most recent contest in 2004. The teams are each 3-3 in El Paso. SJSU is 3-3/1-1 while UTEP has yet to win an FBS game. Spartans win.
Ohio @ Sacramento State- To the surprise of absolutely no one, these teams have never played before. The Bobcats are off to a good start at 4-2/2-0. At 1-5/0-3, the Hornets are not. Ohio wins big.
Utah @ Colorado- The Utes have a narrow 36-33-3 lead in the series, winning 14 of the last 17 (since 1961), but the Buffaloes on the last time they played in Boulder, and their last 2 wins have been on Folsom Field. Utah is 5-0/2-0 and are looking to simply survive before the difficult portion of their schedule begins next week. CU is 2-3/0-2, but were off last week. The Utes have allowed only 1 opponent to score more than 17 points (Kansas had 24 last week) and haven't scored less than 31. The Buffs have yet to score more than 14 against FBS competition and have given up 13, 41, 23, and 29. That sounds like a bad combination. Utah wins big.
Wake Forest @ California- The Golden Bears topped the Demon Deacons 46-36 in their only prior meeting in 2024 in Winston-Salem, so this is their 1st time playing in Berkeley. Cal is 3-3/2-1surviving Va Tech at home last week, and will be looking to do the same this week. WF is 5-1/3-1 with their only loss at home to Miami, and are 3-0 on the road, though none of those were west of the Mississippi River. The Bears have a chance here, but I'm a believer in the Deacons, even if they wouldn't let me inside to see their stadium a few years ago. WF wins.
Fresno State @ San Diego State- The Aztecs hold a 32-27-4 advantage over the Bulldogs, winning the last 2, but the series is 3-3 in San Diego since 2013. FS is 4-2/1-1, losing at USC in their opener and at Boise State last weekend. SDSU is 2-4/1-1, getting demolished by Oregon State last week by more than 50 points. Bulldogs win.
New Mexico @ Hawaii- The Rainbow Warriors have been a huge disappointment this year, as I thought they might challenge for a title in the new look Mountain West, but instead they are 1-5/0-3, and just 1-2 at home. The Lobos are 4-1/1-0, losing only at Oklahoma by 8 points. UH leads the series 17-11, winning 3 of the last 4 (since 2019). UNM wins.
Nebraska @ Oregon- The Cornhuskers lead this rarely played matchup 6-2, with wins in 1952 (in Portland), 1971, 1974, 1985, 1986, and 2016, all in Lincoln. The Ducks have wins in 1953 in Lincoln and in 2017 in Eugene. Both teams are coming off a loss from last week, with NU dropping a decision to undefeated Indiana and OU losing to undefeated UCLA. For the Ducks, their quack has been worse than their bite, as they already have 2 losses and are almost out of the CFP picture. The Huskers can still make the CFP if they win here, but a loss virtually eliminates them as they still have to play Ohio State and at Iowa. The Quack Attack does just enough to eke out a win. Oregon wins a close one.
Until next time, may you and your loved ones be blessed!
